About the estate

The Winzergenossenschaft Königschaffhausen-Kiechlinsbergen eG winery traces its origins back to the historical wine-growing traditions of Kiechlinsbergen and Königschaffhausen in the Kaiserstuhl region. The two formerly independent cooperatives, founded in 1930 and 1933, merged in 2011 to form the current estate. As part of a new brand strategy, the product ranges of the two predecessor operations were consolidated in 2018. The cultivated vineyards include the Steingrüble site, which features weathered volcanic rock and a thin loess topsoil. This location provides ideal conditions for the Spätburgunder grape variety, yielding high-extract grapes.
