About the estate

The Walter Perll winery in Boppard looks back on a long history that began in the seventeenth century with the Perll ancestral home. After the Second World War, the family specialized in viticulture and expanded the vineyard area to seven hectares over the generations. Today, the estate is jointly managed by the siblings Walter Perll Jr. and Elisabeth together with Elisabeth's husband Klaus. The vineyards are located in the steep and very steep sites of the Bopparder Hamm within the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, the estate cultivates plots with a gradient of up to 85 percent in single vineyard sites such as Elfenlay, Fässerlay, Mandelstein, Feuerlay, Ohlenberg, and Weingrube.
