About the estate

The Lanius-Knab estate in Oberwesel on the Middle Rhine is managed by Jörg Lanius and Anja Lanius-Kastien, who took over the parental winery in 1991 and expanded it into a full-time operation. Cultivating eleven hectares of vineyards, they manage steep sites such as the Oberwesel Oelsberg, Engehöll Bernstein, Engehöll Goldemund, and a plot in the Rheingau. The vineyard work relies entirely on manual labor to produce healthy and flavorful grapes. In the cellar, the estate applies experience, patience, and intuition to vinify long-living wines with a pronounced expression of their origin.
