About the estate

Located in Bacharach in the Middle Rhine region, the family-run Weingut Baer estate cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards on steep slate soils. The focus of production is firmly on Riesling, which accounts for 90 percent of the area and is crafted into dry, elegant, and long-lived wines. The estate farms sites such as the grand sites Bacharacher Posten, Bacharacher Wolfshöhle, Steeger St. Jost, and the island vineyard Heylesen Werth in the Rhine river, which is classified as a First Growth. The Bacharacher Posten and Heylesen Werth sites are managed exclusively as monopoles by the winery. The wines are released for sale after a two-year bottle aging period.
