About the estate
The Peter Mertes KG company was founded in 1924 by master winemaker Peter Mertes as a wine trade and winery in Minheim on the Moselle. Today, the estate is based in Bernkastel-Kues and operates as Germany's largest winery with around 400 employees. The family-run business is managed in the fourth generation by Matthias Willkomm together with Georg Graf von Walderdorff. The winery produces a diverse range of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic products that are distributed internationally. Well-known proprietary brands in the portfolio include Maybach, Bree, Biorebe, Landlust, and Rotwild.
