About the estate
The Schätzel estate cultivates vineyards in Rheinhessen in the area of the Roter Hang with the sites Ölberg, Hipping, Pettenthal, and Rothenberg. The winery focuses on regenerative farming, biodynamic preparations, and biodiversity supported by sheep grazing in the vineyards. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, followed by traditional processing and aging of the wines in old oak barrels. By avoiding additives and filtration, natural wines are produced that can age for several years.
The eno directory lists 10 wines, mostly from Riesling and Silvaner.
