About the estate

The Weingut Rettenbacher estate is located in Spitz in the Wachau region, cultivating vineyards on the historic stone terraces in Ried Harzenleiten in St. Michael and Ried Vorderseiber in Weissenkirchen. Situated on ancient gneiss soils with a unique microclimate, the winery focuses primarily on the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties. Old vines shape the character of the wines, which benefit from cool winds originating in the Waldviertel highlands and warm Pannonian influences. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and processed with great care in the cellar. The portfolio features complex white wines as well as sparkling wine from Wachau DAC.
