About the estate

The Michael Wiesler estate in Staufen im Breisgau looks back on a history that began in 1927 with the initial plantings by Karl Alfred Wiesler. Today, the winery is run in the third generation by Michael Wiesler with the support of his wife Kristina. The vines, some of which are more than 65 years old, are rooted in weathered limestone soils on the steep slopes of the Staufener Schlossberg in the Markgräflerland region. Highlights of the production include the wines of the WIESLER EDITION line featuring the Gutedel and Riesling grape varieties. Vinification involves processes such as slow aging on the fine lees and traditional red wine production in wooden barrels.

The eno directory lists 18 wines, mostly from Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The estate sells to retail.
