About the estate

The family-run Weingut Klosterhof is located in a former Franciscan monastery in Brauneberg and looks back on a history dating back to 1802. The estate cultivates vineyards in renowned sites such as the Brauneberger Klostergarten, Brauneberger Juffer, and Wintricher Großer Herrgott, which are predominantly characterized by slate soils. The portfolio focuses on mineral and refined wines, with a primary emphasis on the Riesling grape variety. All wines undergo spontaneous fermentation in the traditional cellar without the use of additives. Ruth and Sepp Thomas, together with the next generation, run the estate, having successfully transformed it from a bulk wine producer into an estate bottling its own wines.
