About the estate

The Weingut Hungermüller estate located in Dittelsheim-Heßloch was founded in 2020 by Heike and Ralf Hungermüller, who returned to their winegrowing roots after previously working as computer scientists. The winery cultivates vineyards around the Kloppberg, including the Geiersberg, Leckerberg and Kloppberg sites, which feature limestone, heavy calcareous clay marl and loess-loam soils. The portfolio of the small estate includes grape varieties such as Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir as a rosé, as well as newly planted Riesling and Chardonnay. Work is carried out manually with intensive vineyard care aiming to minimize intervention in the cellar and give the wines ample time to mature. As a small operation, the winemakers process exclusively small quantities of grapes to dedicate intense attention to each wine.
