Weingut Hochklaus

About the estate

The Hochklaus estate is situated high above Bolzano in Karneid in South Tyrol and is run by Klaus Schroffenegger, whose parents laid the foundations for the vineyards. The winemaker completed his training abroad and produces wines within the Alto Adige DOC denomination. The approach focuses on intervening as little as possible in the natural cycle of the surrounding environment. Old and healthy plants form the basis for cultivating this estate, which is shaped by plants, animals, and humans. The primary focus lies on authenticity, down-to-earth values, and avoiding unnecessary additions during the winemaking process.

The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Pinot Blanc and Riesling. Export markets include Germany and Netherlands.
