About the estate

The organic wine estate Weingut Forster is located in Rümmelsheim and Burg Layen in the Nahe region, where the family has lived and worked for eight generations. Today, the estate is jointly managed by Margit, Georg, and Johannes, who farm organically out of deep conviction and have been certified according to Ecovin guidelines since 1994. The region is characterized by a mild, low-rainfall climate and a unique variety of soils. The cultivated vineyard sites include Burg Layer Johannisberg, Burg Layer Hölle, Burg Layer Schlossberg, Burg Layer Rothenberg, and Laubenheimer Vogelsang. The core portfolio focuses on Riesling and Burgundy varieties, which are shaped by their origin.

The eno directory lists 19 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Noir. Export markets include Netherlands and Austria.
