About the estate

The Chumbderhof estate located in Bornheim in Rheinhessen looks back on a long history that began in 1683 with its lease as a tithe farm. Today, the winery is managed by Friedel Schoenfeld in the tenth generation, who combines family tradition with modern approaches. The grapes grow in vineyards around Bornheim and the neighboring Flonheim. During vineyard management, the estate focuses on respectful treatment of nature, yield reduction, and careful manual work. In the cellar, the wines undergo gentle vinification to emphasize the character of origin and soil.
