About the estate
The Baumberger estate in Mandel in the Nahe region was founded in 1855 by Johann Baumberger and is managed today by the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations. The winery cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards with over 50,000 vines in sites such as Mandeler Schlossberg, Alte Römerstraße, Mandeler Dellchen, Roxheimer Sonnenberg, and Mandeler Palmengarten. The vineyard soils are characterized by sandstone, Rotliegendes, loam, gravel, and marl. The estate operates organically with hand harvesting and produces wines that ferment spontaneously, remaining on the full lees and being bottled unfiltered and without additives.
