About the estate
The Weingut Altes Schulhaus estate is located in Bollingen on Lake Zurich in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. In 2004, publisher Bruno Hug established a vineyard below the historic schoolhouse, which is almost 250 years old. Across a vineyard area of 0.35 hectares, the estate exclusively cultivates fungus-resistant grape varieties such as Sauvignac and Souvignier Gris. The natural viticulture relies on biological protection methods and is managed with the expertise of experienced winegrowers. The annual production of around 1,500 bottles of white wine is vinified off-site by a renowned winemaker in the canton of Schaffhausen.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Souvignier Gris and Sauvignac. The estate sells to horeca.

Der Souvignier Gris ist kräftig, fruchtig und hat einen leicht mineralischen Einschlag, der durch das Terroir der sandsteinhaltigen Böden von Bollingen verstärkt wird.
