About the estate
The Weinbaugenossenschaft Saffergarten estate is rooted in the Seetal region and is located in Altwis at the warm foot of the Lindenberg between Lake Baldegg and Lake Hallwil. The history of the operation began in 1970 with the planting of the vines, after cherry trees had stood at the site in earlier years. The vineyard benefits from a mild climate where grape varieties such as Riesling-Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Dornfelder thrive. From the ripe grapes, the winery produces a variety of wines including Riesling-Silvaner, Saffleur, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Rosé sparkling wine, Cuvée, Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Barrique, Merlot Barrique, and a marc.
