About the estate

The Thomas Dorfmann winery cultivates two hectares of vineyards in Velturno in the Isarco Valley. The steep southern slopes situated between 550 and 650 meters above sea level are terraced with dry stone walls and feature diorite weathering soils. After running the estate part-time for many years, Thomas Dorfmann has managed it full-time since 2018. The portfolio mainly comprises white grape varieties such Sylvaner, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling, along with a small share of Pinot Noir. The wines are produced under the influence of the alpine and Mediterranean climate in the northernmost wine-growing region of South Tyrol.
