About the estate

The Szörényi Családi Pince winery was established in 1994 on the Bács-hegy in the Balaton uplands, which belongs to the Badacsony wine region. The volcanic, basaltic soils of the south-west-facing vineyards form the basis for characterful, full-bodied wines with fine acidity and distinctive minerality. The first vines, including Olaszrizling, were planted in 1996, followed by Juhfark and Chardonnay in 2000, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Kéknyelű. The vineyard management is carried out largely by hand by the family, with chemical crop protection now replaced by biotechnology. After years of private production, the estate received official licensing for commercial distribution in 2018.
