About the estate
The Širca Kodrič estate cultivates six hectares of vineyards in the Slovenian wine region of Kras, spread across 18 smaller parcels between the villages of Dutovlje and Tomaj. The area is characterized by red Terra Rossa soil and the influence of the local wind. The planted grape varieties primarily include Refošk, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malvazija, and Vitovska grganja. The harvest of all grapes is carried out entirely by hand. In 1992, a new cellar with a capacity of 40,000 liters was built, utilizing large wooden barrels, barrique casks, and stainless steel tanks.
