About the estate
The Scopetone - La Melina estate was founded in 2002 in the municipality of Montalcino at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level. Sangiovese grapes are cultivated across a vineyard area of five hectares, which have been managed by the current operators since 2009. The annual production comprises a total of 7,000 bottles of Brunello, 4,000 bottles of Rosso di Montalcino, and 10,000 bottles of Rosso di Toscana Sangiovese IGT, alongside olive oil and other crops. Winemaking is supported by the consultancy of oenologist Maurizio Castelli, and a new cellar and tasting room was built in 2015.
The eno directory lists 4 wines, mostly from Sangiovese.
