About the estate
The traditional Schauer estate in Kitzeck im Sausal in South Styria looks back on a history dating back to 1763 and is managed today by the brothers Stefan and Bernhard Schauer. The south and southwest-facing vineyards are situated at altitudes between 420 and 580 meters and are characterized by Paleozoic slate and red slate soils. The grape variety portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, producing wines such as the local wine from Kitzeck-Sausal. The winemaking process features spontaneous fermentation and twelve months of aging in used, large oak barrels. The operations of the winery are complemented by a regionally renowned wine tavern and guest rooms located directly on the property.
The eno directory lists one wine.
