About the estate

The Styrian family estate Wohlmuth has been cultivating vineyards in Kitzeck im Sausal since 1803, looking back on a long tradition. The vineyards are among the steepest in Europe and are characterized by extremely barren slate soils. Cultivation relies consistently on manual labor as well as the avoidance of herbicides and insecticides. The focus of cultivation lies on varieties such as Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, which are vinified into origin-specific wines. The wines are internationally recognized and available through global export partners.

The eno directory lists 25 wines, mostly from Sauvignon Blanc and Gelber Muskateller. The estate sells to retail, importers and distributors. Export markets include Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom and Italy.
