About the estate
The Quinta do Religães estate is situated in the rolling hills of the Douro region in northern Portugal and spans 9 hectares, which includes 3.5 hectares of vineyards thriving on granite soils. In 2023, the French-Dutch entrepreneurial couple Jean-Noël Clot and Odette Clot-van Zijdveld acquired the property and celebrated their first vintage with a handpicked harvest in the same year. The viticulture relies on dry-farming methods in harmony with nature, while the winemaking process focuses on minimal intervention, gentle pressing, and lees ageing. The portfolio features handcrafted, gastronomic wines such as Loureiro, a blended wine, and a traditionally fermented Espumante.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Loureiro and Alvarinho. The estate sells to retail.
