About the estate

The Quinta das Mestras Santar estate is located in the historic village of Santar in the heart of the Dão region, framed by the Serra da Estrela, Buçaco, Caramulo, Freita, and Montemuro mountains. The origins of the property date back to the 17th century, with the first reference recorded in 1686. Spanning 15 hectares of vineyards, the estate features granitic and sandy soils combined with a privileged south-westerly exposure. Alongside the vineyards, the property includes olive groves, orchards, and water resources. Winemaking has been an integral part of the estate's secular history throughout the generations.
