About the estate
The Caminhos Cruzados, Lda estate located in Nelas produces authentic and elegant wines within the Dão DOC denomination. The vineyards are situated between 400 and 700 meters in altitude on shallow schist and granite soils, protected from winds by surrounding mountain ranges. Cultivated grape varieties include Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Jaen for reds, alongside Encruzado, Bical, and Cercial for whites. In 2017, a new, architecturally striking winery with a vinification capacity of 400,000 liters was inaugurated at Quinta da Teixuga. The winery places a strong emphasis on sustainability, implementing an agroecological management plan and utilizing sheep for natural weed control.
