About the estate
The Bendida Winery estate is located in the village of Brestovitsa within the fertile Thracian Lowlands and traces its family winemaking history back to 1936, when Metodi Portev produced the first wine. Following an interruption after the political regime change in 1944, his grandson restored the old stone winery using new equipment while preserving the authentic appearance of the building. Today, the estate focuses on crafting wines from characteristic regional grape varieties such as Rubin and Mavrud. Additionally, the business operates an enoteca and a wine shop in Plovdiv that offer tastings, curated menus, and professional guidance.
