About the estate

The Lyrarakis winery was established in 1966 by brothers Manolis and Sotiris on the island of Crete and is managed today by the second generation. The estate focuses particularly on the revival of rare indigenous grape varieties such as Dafni, Plyto, and Melissaki, which are cultivated in the family vineyards. Since 2020, the producer has transitioned to organic viticulture and implements sustainable practices, including no-till farming and the use of proprietary organic fertilizer. To adapt to climate change, the winery has expanded to higher altitudes and adopted the lyre trellising system.
