About the estate

The Wolfgang Pollak winery is located in Unterretzbach in Lower Austria's Weinviertel region and looks back on a long family tradition dating back to 1765, when an ancestor built a wine press house. The small estate manages a vineyard area of two hectares and converted to organic farming in 2008. The vineyards are situated on the slopes of the Manhartsberg, characterized by lean soils, rocky subsoil, as well as loamy clay and loess soils. The local microclimate, featuring pronounced cooling at night and many hours of sunshine, favors the production of complex Pinot varieties, red wines, Grüner Veltliner, and Riesling.
