About the estate
The Poggio Antico estate was founded in 1976 on the southwestern slopes of Montalcino and is situated on the highest hills of the appellation. Across 35 hectares of vineyards reaching an altitude of almost 550 meters, the Sangiovese grape is cultivated on ancient and mixed soils composed of calcareous rock and marl. This specific terroir results in complex and elegant expressions, producing the iconic Brunello. The portfolio features Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and Toscana IGT wines. Since the acquisition by owner Marcel van Poecke in 2017, the estate continues its focus on development while remaining rooted in its history.
