About the estate

The Piemaggio estate is located in Castellina in Chianti within the historical heart of Chianti Classico, tracing its origins back to the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The vineyards cover twelve hectares at an altitude between 380 and 420 meters, featuring southern and southwestern exposures. The soils are characterized by galestro and alberese and are completely surrounded by forests. Sangiovese is cultivated as the principal grape variety, complemented by historical varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo, alongside international varieties for IGT production. The vines are trained in the Guyot system and benefit from constant breezes and optimal soil drainage.

The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Colorino.
