The Pie' di Mont estate in Gorizia in the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region was founded in 1983 by Paolo Rizzi, who cultivates the vineyards on Mount Calvario in the Podgora area with the tenacity of his son Roman. Spanning a vineyard area of 1.2 hectares, the winery produces limited quantities of wines under the Collio Goriziano denomination, including a traditional Metodo Classico made from Ribolla, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The operation relies on sustainable, natural methods and meticulous manual care in the vineyards. The name of the estate derives from the characteristic vineyard sites, which benefit from a distinct evening microclimate.
