About the estate

The Pedra Cancela Berço wine project was initiated more than twenty years ago from the family roots of João Paulo Gouveia in Oliveira de Barreiros near Viseu, and is shaped today in collaboration with oenologist Sónia Martins. With new vineyard plantings in the Dão region, including Vinha da Fidalga in Carregal do Sal, the winery focuses on traditional and in some cases nearly extinct grape varieties. The wines are characterized by a strong regional terroir identity combined with finesse. The portfolio comprises various white, red, and rosé wines as well as sparkling wines from the Dão DOC denomination.

The eno directory lists 17 wines, mostly from Touriga Nacional and Encruzado.
