About the estate

The family estate Markowitsch Gerhard, which has existed since 1750, is run today by Gerhard Markowitsch together with his wife Christine and their daughters Johanna and Helene. Operations are carried out in the towns of Göttlesbrunn, Höflein and Prellenkirchen across six single vineyards and around 130 mini-parcels in the Carnuntum region. The focus lies on the grape varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Chardonnay. Farming in the vineyard is organic and primarily by hand, while the cellar relies on minimal intervention, spontaneous mash fermentations and maturation in wooden casks. Through this artisanal and plot-specific vinification, wines are created that express their origin from Carnuntum.
