About the estate
The Luisenberg winery was founded in 1998 with the revival of the historic vineyard site along the Saale and Unstrut rivers, where monks from the nearby Cistercian monastery of Pforta previously cultivated wine. Spanning a vineyard area of 0.3 hectares, the estate applies the highest standards, strict yield reduction, and intensive vine care. The portfolio includes classic grape varieties as well as wines produced in cooperation with the Winzerhof Gussek winery, which originate 100% from Luisenberg. The age-worthy premium red wines mature for nine to twelve months in wooden barrels and reflect the local terroir.
