About the estate

The La Capitaine estate in Begnins is run as a family tradition and dates back to 1990, when Reynald Parmelin took over half of the family winery. Over time, the vineyard area expanded to more than twenty hectares. Starting in 1994, the estate converted to organic farming, becoming the first certified organic winery in the canton of Vaud, which was followed by Demeter certification for its biodynamic practices in 2010. The portfolio includes various grape varieties such as Chasselas, Pinot Noir, Johanniter, and Merlot, which are traditionally bottled in distinctive blue bottles. The wines and the estate are well established in Switzerland and through export.
