Kloster Neustift

About the estate

The Kloster Neustift estate looks back on a history founded in 1142 and is located in Vahrn in Trentino-South Tyrol within the Alto Adige DOC denomination. The winemaking tradition is as old as the monastery itself, which was expanded over the centuries through acquisitions such as the Mariaheim estate near Bolzano and the Marklhof farm in Cornaiano. In the challenging Eisacktal, the winery cultivates vineyards for various grape varieties, supplemented by grapes from long-standing partners of a cooperative consortium. For wine production, the estate utilizes modern cellars built underground beneath a vineyard to preserve the historic monastery complex. The portfolio includes various lines, among them the Praepositus premium line for top wines such as Pinot Noir and Lagrein as well as the Insolitus line.

Export markets include Belgium, United Kingdom, Luxembourg and Netherlands.
