About the estate
Founded in 1908, the Kellerei Bozen winery is supported by 224 members and their families who cultivate around 340 hectares of vineyards in and around Bolzano. The vineyards extend over altitudes ranging from 200 to 1,000 meters in locations such as Gries, St. Magdalena, and Ritten. The diversity of soils and microclimates ranges from warm alluvial soils to light quartz porphyry soils on steep slopes. These sites provide ideal conditions for grape varieties such as Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet, Merlot, as well as the indigenous varieties Lagrein and Schiava used for the Alto Adige Santa Maddalena. The estate produces wines under the Alto Adige DOC and Alto Adige Santa Maddalena DOC denominations.
