About the estate
The Kaltenbach. Wildtäler Wein estate has been cultivating vineyards in the Breisgau region of Baden since 1999. Located at the family-run Merzhof in Gundelfingen-Wildtal, vines grow in the south-facing single vineyard site Wildtäler Sommerberg. The soils of this sheltered hillside location in the foothills of the Black Forest consist of fertile weathered gneiss. The grape variety portfolio includes Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gutedel, and Müller-Thurgau. Cultivation is carried out in harmony with nature, integrating animals into the farm's operations.
