About the estate
The Il Poggione estate is located in Sant’Angelo in Colle, south of Montalcino in Tuscany. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 150 and 450 meters above sea level and benefit from the geographical position between Mount Amiata and the Tyrrhenian Sea. One of the most notable sites is Vigna Paganelli, planted in 1964, which is considered one of the oldest crus in the region and is used to produce the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. The Sangiovese clones cultivated there feature small grapes with thick skins and ensure the typical characteristics of the Sangiovese from Montalcino.
