IL Monte Caro

About the estate

The IL Monte Caro estate was founded in 1986 by Enzo and Carla Marcolini in Mezzane di Sotto in Veneto, and is today run by their children Emanuela and Giorgio. Spanning seven hectares of organically farmed vineyards situated at altitudes between 150 and 300 meters, the winery produces wines rooted in the Valpolicella region. Mostly 25 to 35 years old and traditionally trained using the pergola system, the vines grow on limestone-rich soils that impart minerality to the wines. All vineyard management is carried out manually, and the vinification relies on spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts to reflect the character of the site.
