About the estate

The IBY Rotweingut in Horitschon looks back on a family tradition dating back to 1884 and is managed today by Anton Markus and Eva Maria Iby. The estate farms 40 hectares of vineyards in prime locations of the Mittelburgenland such as Hochäcker, Gfanger, Dürrau and Rager. The cultivation focuses entirely on red wine varieties with a strong emphasis on Blaufränkisch, which is grown according to organic guidelines. The wines are traditionally matured in wooden casks to reflect their origin and varietal typicity without fining agents. The portfolio includes finesse-driven and elegant red wines such as Hochäcker, Chevalier, Quintus and Dürrau.
