About the estate

The traditional family estate Familie Rohrer is located in the red wine village of Lutzmannsburg in Austria's Middle Burgenland Blaufränkischland region. The family-run winery cultivates around 5.5 hectares of vineyards on the Lutzmannsburg high plateau, where old and very old vines thrive on deep loamy soils. Blaufränkisch takes the most prominent place in the red wine portfolio, complemented by Zweigelt, Merlot, Shiraz, and rare white grape varieties. Vineyard management follows the guidelines of controlled integrated pest management with permanent cover crop and exclusively manual harvesting. In the cellar, the winery relies on open spontaneous fermentation and traditional maturation in large wooden barrels.
