About the estate

The family-run estate Weingut Juliana Wieder is located in Neckenmarkt in the Mittelburgenland, an area also known as Blaufränkischland. Across 40 hectares of vineyards situated in various sites, the estate cultivates vines that are in some cases up to 80 years old. Heavy clay soils as well as locations featuring orthogneiss, mica schist, and shell limestone provide ideal conditions for grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. The vineyards are farmed close to nature, and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The red wines and the full-bodied Chardonnay are matured in wooden casks, while the white wines age in stainless steel tanks.

The eno directory lists 22 wines, mostly from Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir. The estate sells to retail and distributors. Export markets include Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany.
