About the estate
The Grand Tokaj estate is located in the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region in Hungary on the southern slopes of the Zemplén Mountains. The local vineyards feature volcanic soils and a unique microclimate influenced by the nearby Bodrog and Tisza rivers. The grape varieties cultivated by the winery include Furmint, Hárslevelű, Sárgamuskotály, Zéta, Kabar, and Kövérszőlő. Winemaking practices involve selective hand-harvesting of the berries as well as traditional aging processes in used oak barrels and amphorae located in the Szegi cellar. As part of a quality renewal program, the winery conducts comprehensive assessments of terroir potential and vineyard conditions.
