About the estate
The Gaus Weinbau estate, located in Bassersdorf in German-speaking Switzerland, was established in 2004 by Paul Gaus-Hegner. The vineyards are situated in Otelfingen on the south to south-southwest facing slopes of the Lägern at 450 meters above sea level. There, grape varieties such as Pinot Noir thrive on strongly alkaline limestone soils. The winery offers red wine, white wine, and dessert wine produced from a total of five grape varieties. The processing of the grapes and the vinification take place in the wine cellar of the Schloss Teufen estate.
