About the estate
The Felsengartenkellerei Besigheim eG estate is located in Hessigheim in the Württemberg wine region and unites four hundred winegrower families across ten wine-producing communities today. The cooperative cultivates 540 hectares of vineyards in terraced steep slopes along the Neckar and Enz rivers, which are characterized by shell limestone cliffs and dry stone walls. The roots of the community trace back to the organization of winegrowers, including a 2019 merger with the Weingärtner Bad Cannstatt cooperative founded in 1923. In the cellar, the winemakers rely on traditional mash fermentation in wooden vats as well as maturation in large oak casks or barriques. The premium wines are aged in wood for up to twenty-four months to develop their specific character.
The estate sells to retail.
