About the estate

The Graf von Bentzel – Sturmfeder estate in Schozach looks back on a family tradition that began in 1396. The vineyards, covering an area of 15 hectares, are situated around Schozach with slopes of up to 45 percent, with the Schozacher Roter Berg site being in the sole ownership of the family. The range of grape varieties includes reds such as Pinot Noir, Samtrot, Saint Laurent, Lemberger, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as whites led by Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc. The red wines are aged in wooden casks, given time to develop, and bottled in small batches. The portfolio also includes sparkling wines produced by traditional bottle fermentation.
