Fattoria Varramista

About the estate

The Fattoria Varramista estate is located in Tuscany and looks back on centuries of history, beginning in the 15th century when it was given to Gino di Neri Capponi by the Republic of Florence. Over the centuries, the property was owned by prominent families such as the Capponi, the Gentile Farinola, and later the Piaggio, Agnelli, and Visconti di Modrone families. Designed by the Florentine architect Bartolomeo Ammannati and completed in 1589, the villa forms the heart of the extensive estate. Surrounded by over 400 hectares of nature are the vineyards, where the Syrah grape variety was established in the 1990s under Giovanni Alberto Agnelli. Today, the estate produces wines under the Chianti DOCG, Terre di Pisa DOC, and Toscana IGT denominations.
