About the estate

The Fahrer Charles estate in Orschwiller looks back on a long family tradition dating back to 1703 and is now managed in the ninth generation. The winery cultivates eleven hectares of vineyards spread across 45 plots surrounding the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, operating under certified organic agriculture since 2020. The portfolio includes the seven classic grape varieties of Alsace, crémants, and wines from the Grand Cru Praelatenberg appellation. In addition to dry wines, exceptional years yield Vendanges Tardives and Sélections de Grains Nobles. The wines are distributed directly as well as internationally to various European and Asian markets.

The eno directory lists 21 wines, mostly from Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. The estate sells to horeca. Export markets include Czechia, Austria and Belgium.
