About the estate

The Domäne Wachau estate located in Dürnstein is a long-standing cooperative and represents one of Austria's most prominent wineries with organically farmed vineyards. Under the direction of Roman Horvath and Heinz Frischengruber, the winegrowers cultivate the steep terraced vineyards in the Wachau in small structures and largely by hand. The work in the vineyard and cellar is strongly driven by respect for nature and soil to precisely shape origin, vintage, and grape variety. The wines originate from renowned single vineyards such as Achleiten, Brandstatt, Kellerberg, Loibenberg, 1000-Eimer-Berg, and Singerriedel. They reflect the unique terroir of the region and stand for a purist, origin-typical style characterized by depth and freshness.
